South Korea Trip 2016 Part 7: War Museum, Incheon Airport
January 22, 2017
This is my last blog post for my 2016 South Korea trip! Well, at least it didn't take me a year to get it done. As of now, no more travel entries backlogs for me~

Day 7 (April 19, 2016) | War Memorial Museum of Korea
Our flight was at 8PM KST so we still had time in the morning to do last-minute errands/shopping/what say you. It was honestly a lazy start of the day because we all slept rather late the night before, coming from Nami Island, last minute shopping, then packing our luggage. I found it difficult to pack my luggage because of all the things I wanted/needed to bring home (skin care stuff, clothes... but mostly food!). I had to transfer some of things to Jj's luggage because of this predicament lol.
Anyway, after checking out from the guesthouse and having breakfast, my friends and I went our separate ways to do last minute stuff. I think Jodie went to a coffee/EXO-related store while Kwik went to Myeongdong for more shopping. The history nerds that we are, Jj and I decided to go to the War Memorial Museum of Korea.
The museum is only a walking distance away from Samgakji Station. This station is also only 4 stops away from Myeongdong.
Cold breeze, clear skies!
Walking to the entrance of the museum, oh how I love spring!
The War Memorial Museum of Korea showcases materials and educational information on the Korean War. It's a huge museum with multiple floors. From how the war emerged, to the nations that helped South Korea during the war, to how the war "ended", to the current relationship of North Korea and South Korea -- you'll learn all about it here! Sadly, we were only able to visit one floor (not even the whole floor) given the limited time. We arrived in the museum at around 11:30AM and we needed to leave for the airport by 3PM. We would have wanted to explore the whole place. I'm thinking the next time we go here, we should allot AT LEAST half a day just for this war museum. And yes, we are planning to go back here again!
Cute kids going on a trip to the museum~ There were lots of tour groups when we were there, btw!
A few photos I took while touring the museum. I wasn't able to take a lot because I was seriously taking into heart all the information I was reading. It was that interesting for me!
I am always fascinated by foreign vending machines
And this was what I got from that vending machine!
It was probably around 1:30PM when we headed back to Myeongdong to eat late lunch and to prepare for our ride to the airport.
Last snippets of Myeongdong Station, our "home station" for the past 7 days
Goodbye for now, Myeongdong! See you again real soon!
On our way back to the guesthouse, I decided to get a convenience store meal for my lunch. I just wanted to try it before leaving. The meal was honestly cheap, tasty, and filling!
Amazed by this caramel macchiato in a tetra pack kind of packaging! After buying that tetra pack, they will give you a plastic cup and straw which you can fill with ice. From there, you will transfer the drink from the pack to the cup. COOL! (Ok, I'm pretty shallow lol)
I think this meal was around 6000 won only?! I'm not so sure but I know it was pretty affordable!
At 3PM, we went to the bus station. The staff of Namsan Guest House were so kind and accommodating. They helped us bring our luggage to the stop!! :) We rode the airport bus and the trip was an hour long.
Here's the magazine in the bus. Annyeong handsome Park Bogum!
In Incheon Airport, about to check-in
After checking-in, we had dinner. We opted to buy Western food so Taco Bell it is! I got quesadilla and fries. I also want to say that the guys working in Taco Bell Incheon Airport Branch were quite good-looking LOL. OPPA!
Goodbye Korea. You were/are amazing! See you again! :)
